PARENTS’ COMMENTS
We have surveyed our parents and this is what they have to say about our
program!
What aspect of the Kinderhouse program do you appreciate?
- “The programming – science, culture, language, physical activity – it is comprehensive and exciting for
the children. I really feel that my daughter learns something every day that she is there. “ C.J. (2009-
2010) - “The teachers! You are all so kind and wonderful. Also the art projects are amazing and so creative. The
facility and materials are beautiful & natural.” C.H. (2010-2011) - “We like that they do work on letters, numbers, but also include the gym and singing into the program.
Also the outdoor activities are great…and the songs, my daughter comes home singing songs she
learned there. We also like that they are able to still play and be kids.” N.S. (2009-2011) - “My favorite thing is the literacy program that has started. My son can recognize letters and in the
books he is beginning to recognize words. I also appreciate that he is learning about the world and
the environment and about recycling and littering. There are things he is learning at Kinderhouse that surprise me like volcanos. Very cool! ” C.P. (2009-2010) - “We feel teachers do care about the kids. Excellent teachers.” C.A. (2009-2011)
- “We appreciate that you work with a child’s individual strengths to help them learn rather than forcing
them to conform to the group. Your gentle encouragement and support helped our son’s reservations
and fears disappear. We appreciate that you emphasize a learning environment with educational toys
and include physical activity in your program.” K.M. (2009-2011) - “Small class size for most learning but exposure to being in a larger group setting.
Warm and caring environment – no visible tension or stress present.
The learning materials are amazing; the children really love working with them;
The projects really capture things/events present in our busy world.” C.W. (2009-2011) - “The patience of the teachers to work with the students as individuals. The curriculum that the children
don’t even realize they are learning. Not having to pack a snack.” P.D. (2010-2012) - “Not just the basics of numbers and letters, but the Kinderhouse program also focuses on our country,
planet and solar sytem. Integrating more than one style of learning to reach all of the children in the
program. “ K.G. (2010-2011) - “The childrens program is organized and purposeful. This is truly a pre-school instead of a play school.”
M.W. (2010-2011) - “I like that Kinderhouse is not a play school and is a preschool. My child needed a bit more structure and
routine. The teachers find the perfect balance between educating and having fun. Which makes learning
ongoing and something that all the children enjoy. The teachers get to know the children and are able to
give them exactly what each needs.” T.P. (2009-2011) - “I like that my daughter is exposed to a variety of subjects in both a playful and structured manor. The
music program is fantastic as well as the physical activity they receive. Please keep the Spanish. It’s great
that the kids are exposed to another language.” J.W. (2009-2010) - “Two things as simple as: (1) I love that you provide the snack!
And (2) A 3 hour day! And of course
some people are more interested in a play-school setting, but I love the structure, being in groups,
going to stations, and a Huge VARIETY of activities (math, language, social, physical, environmental;
Everything!!) They are Not too young to learn!” Anonymous - “The program itself is what really drew me in. I loved how a few different styles of teaching are
incorporated, not just one style, because every child learns in a different way.” A.D. (2010-2011) - “Focus on the on the child from all aspects: educational, practical, social, creative, environmental
awareness.” L.P. (2009-2011) - “Strong emphasis on both the basics (numeracy, reading and writing) and the creative arts – children are
encouraged to explore in an environment where there is guidance that is tailored to the child’s needs
and abilities.” Anonymous - “The curriculum is above all else out there. Teaching children material that is often not introduced until
grade 1…. FANTASTIC!” K.M. (2010-2011)
